What Is The Difference Between Delegate And Transfer Notification
When a user creates a Vacation Rule, he can choose between two options when selecting “Reassign”:
1. Delegate your response
2. Transfer notification ownership
What is the difference between the two?
Answer:
Workflow provides a provision to reassign the notification either through Delegate Authority for Responding to Notifications, if you want to give someone else authority to respond to the notification on your behalf. Or through Transfer Ownership of Notifications, if you want to give someone else complete ownership and responsibility of the notification.
So in case of reorganisation owner should transfer the notification and not delegate.
This is how the system would behave
Say original hierarchy is A–>B—>C another hierarchy D–>E–F
Notification submitted by A reaches B and B submits it to C
1) C “Transfers” the notification to F.
On approval by F the final approval notification received by A would have the name of F rather then C.
2) C “Delegates” notification To F.
On approval by F the final approval notification received by A would have the name of C.
3) Notification submitted by A reaches B and B “Transfers” the notification to D.
On approval by D the notification climbs up D hierarchy i.e. it goes to E and then to F.
4) Notification submitted by A reaches B and B “Delegates” the notification to D.
On approval by D the notification climbs up B hierarchy i.e. it goes to C.
