If you are getting error message while updating The legal entity doesn’t exist. (PER-1531116) while updating legal entity Information.

Solution:

To define ‘Manage Legal Entity HCM Information’ or ‘Manage Legal Reporting Unit HCM Information’, the Legal Entity should be marked as either ‘Payroll Statutory Unit’ or ‘Legal Employer’.

If the LE was created without either of those two classifications, they can be added via the “Search Legal Entities” task.

Navigate Setup and Maintenance > Search > Search Legal Entities
Query the LE you need to change, and check the appropriate checkbox for ‘Payroll Statutory Unit’ or ‘Legal Employer’.
Save and Close.
